An experiment using flies showed that hungry flies that were not fed for nine hours or longer got a better memory than ones that were fully fed, The Daily Yomiuri said on Page 3 January 29. 2013.
According to the article, a protein called CRTC, involved in memorization in the brain, was activated in the hungry group, enhancing memory performance. Humans also have the protein. Hunger might improve memory also in humans. But the researcher concluded that the study could not suggest the result would also apply to humans because there are various factors that could affect human memory performance.
When I started reading the headline of the article, I thought "It’s good for me! Hunger will bring me not only health but also a better memory!" But the great joy disappeared in a few minutes. Things don’t go as I wish…
Gee, I didn't know this fact. HOWEVER,,, I don't think this can fit for me. I cannot just concentrate on anything when I'm hungry. I just look for somewhere to eat....
